-Abortion is not murder. For it to be murder, there has to be a person involved. A fetus is not a person.
-Just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean you can pass a blatantly unconstitutional law to try and make it stop. Requiring women to seek religious counseling is a slap in the face to the first amendment.
-“encouraging women to seek other options” implies that they haven’t already considered continuing the pregnancy. They have. The only other option to continuing a pregnancy is abortion. Adoption isn’t an alternative to pregnancy, it’s an alternative to parenting.
-Congratulations on making the *choice* to be a parent. Just because you’ve done something doesn’t mean everyone else should do that too. I married the guy who got me pregnant. Does that mean I think everyone should marry the person who gets them pregnant? No. Every one’s situation is different, and you have none, zero right to enforce a law because of your one specific situation.
-In the case of women who have to abort due to medical necessity, anti-abortion laws that are based on faulty information are not allowing them to do so and forcing them to risk their lives, try and do it themselves, carry and deliver a stillborn fetus, or watch their very much wanted baby die in their arms after enduring an excruciating 15 minutes of life. So laws like this can easily affect women who even you think should get an abortion.
-Having sex is not a contract for pregnancy, any more than getting into a car is a contract for an accident or going swimming is a contract for drowning. We do not outlaw ambulances or lifeguards and we shouldn’t outlaw abortions.
-The majority of people who have abortions do practice safe sex. But condoms and birth control fail.
-“Don’t give you that rape crap?” first of all, you can fuck right off. Not everyone handles their rape the same way, and the fact that you have no problem forcing a rape victim to go through 9 months of invasive bullshit and being poked and prodded by strangers when she’s trying to put her life back together is disgusting.
-Again, adoption is an alternative to parenting, not to pregnancy. And if there are so many people out there wanting to adopt all these babies, why are there hundreds of thousands of kids languishing in the system? Oh - right, because people only want to adopt healthy white babies. Hate to break it to you, but the majority of people who have abortions aren’t white.
No one is asking you to like abortion or get one yourself. But do not go and force your ideology on others who do not believe the same as you.
